9/27/09
We took another hike over the weekend. This time it was
down near Salida. It's been fun exploring different parts
of Colorado. Unfortunately, with the snow in the mountains
earlier in the week, many of the leaves were already down this
weekend. The weather was beautiful though and some trees
still had color...
August and Early September
Hi Everyone, We've got some new pictures from a few different
things at the end of the summer.
Hiking near Buena Vista
It's hard to believe the aspens are already starting to change.
These were taken over Labor Day Weekend...
Glasses
It happened. When Hannah got her eyes checked this year,
it turned out she needed glasses. She was having a
difficult time seeing up close, so she is wearing bi-focals.
Right now she's pretty much just wearing them at school and when
reading...
Triathlon
Logan and Hannah did the neighborhood triathlon again this year.
They had a really good time. The courses were designed by
age group and were markedly longer this year. Hannah
decided to ride her scooter instead of her bike on training
wheels. Turned out to be over a half a mile of scooter
riding - she was pooped! Both did great and they slept
well that night...
First Day of School
It's finally happened - both Logan and Hannah are in school.
Hannah is in full-day Kindergarten and Logan started second
grade. They are both loving it, but Lisa's a little
lost...
In the Mountains
We did a little four wheeling in Mosquito Pass, between Leadville and
Alma. It was absolutely beautiful, but the drive was a little scary.
We also got in a little fishing and marshmallow roasting that weekend...
Tying Shoes and Odds & Ends
Both Hannah and Logan decided it was time to learn to tie their shoes.
I think the defining moment was when Lisa and Cogi were out getting the kids
shoes for school and they both wanted ones with shoe laces instead of
elastic pulls or velcro. Cogi has the patience of a saint and worked
with them both. It's funny how they each have their own way of doing
it, but it works out for both of them nonetheless...
Mountains at the end of July
