3/26 - March
Wow did time get away from me! There are bunches of new
pictures, from Christmas on, so please make sure to page down
our website...
It's been strange weather around here. Today it snowed
something like 15 inches. The kids are on Spring Break and
my work shut down for the day due to the snow. So it's
been a day of playing around, shoveling, and me catching up on
pictures.
So much has been happening over the past few months. We
got a new dog, Ace, who is just a great little pup - smart and
cute. Logan and I have been working on his Pinewood Derby
for Cub Scouts. Hannah just finished up Ski School up in
Eldora. We've also been heading up to the the mountains
often and the weather got nice enough last weekend to go for a
hike near the cabin.
Here are some pictures of today. The most snow we've
gotten all year. Who knew that would happen at the end of
March? Especially after being 75 degrees just a few days
ago...
Here, we're hiking at Indian Mountain. It was Ace's first
hike and he did great!
It's been a Cub Scout month. Logan had his Pinewood Derby
where he won 1st Prize in his division and 3rd Prize overall,
which is pretty awesome considering there were about 50 Cub
Scouts competing... The kids also went bowling, which is
always fun and interesting...
Lisa took Hannah to Ski School on Fridays the last month and a
half. We didn't know how she'd like it, but it turned out
she absolutely loved it. She told me today she
wants to be an Olympic Skier. Nothing like setting the bar
high! I went to see her ski on her last day and it was
amazing how steady she was. Just a solid little skier,
we're so proud of her...
February
February was the Month of Ace. We weren't planning on
getting a dog right now, but Lisa has had her heart set on
getting a Bi-Black Sheltie for probably the past 10 years.
They are fairly rare, and hard to come by from a good breeder.
Lisa did some research on some Colorado and Utah breeders over a
year ago and there just didn't seem to be much out there, so
when a breeder contacted us that she had one she was trying to
place, we decided to go for it. We sure are glad we did.
Ace came from Utah and he is just something else. Full of
personality, smart, and very trainable. We're thinking he
could be a really good Agility dog. He's definitely a
heart stealer...
Paul and Anita came to visit and the kids had a great time with them.
Even got some puzzle building time in at the cabin... The 3-D glasses
are from our Super Bowl Party...
January
We meant to take the kids snowshoeing in January. Instead, the snow
was so scarce and packed, we hiked instead...
